Samsung is expected to release its latest device in the Galaxy series which is Galaxy C9 on May 25th, 2017. Samsung is well known nowadays for the Android-based smartphones with cameras having fantastic clarity and an easy to handle the user interface. Galaxy C9 will come up with Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) which is a predecessor of the latest Android 7 (Nougat). This smartphone is expected to get an upgrade to Android 7, but the company has not officially announced any such plans for now. It will be a dual sim smartphone which will support GSM type and nano-sized SIMs which is nowadays a standard industry practice. This device will support all the network bands currently functioning in India which are 4G (Indian bands), 3G and 2G. It will have the facility of fingerprint unlocking and quick charging that offer great relief to the users for whom the availability of ample battery is always a big question.

Design and Display

Talking about design Samsung Galaxy smartphone, it has a trademarked design which is observed in all the smartphones of this series and hence it is continuing the same trademark type legacy to the next generation devices. The dimensions of this device are 162.9 x 80.7 x 6.9mm. It will be weighing 185 grams which is a pretty heavy, but because the length is more, it is considerable. This smartphone will arrive in three colour variants which are silver, gold, and rose gold.So, those who love to have a modern device with a different colour can have a great choice.

On the front side, there is a huge 6-inch screen. On the bottom of the screen are in total three buttons out of which 2 are capacitive touch and the button right in the middle is a physical button. On the top of the display is an earpiece vent and on the left side of the earpiece is a front camera. On the right side of the earpiece, the vent is a proximity sensor. At the bottom of the device, right in the middle is a USB charging port. On the left side of the charging port is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a primary microphone. On the right side of the phone, there is a charging port and loudspeaker vent. The rear side of this smartphone is very simple and sober in looks so it can fit in the requirements of devices for the professional users also. In the middle top, there is a rear camera accompanied by a LED flash on the right side of it. Right below the rear camera, there is Samsung branding of silver colour. On the top and bottom of the rear side, one can see thin white linings which are supposedly the antennas of these smartphone. These lines basically provide an escape route to the signals as mentioned by some tech geeks.

As mentioned earlier the display on this device is a humongous 6 inch. The screen resolution is Full HD which is 1080 x 1920 pixels or commonly referred as 1080p. The pixel density of the display is 367ppi. It is an AMOLED display with capacitive touch support and multi-touch up to 10 points (expected). The screen to body ratio is 75.32% which means a large part of the device is occupied by the display and it means that the user will get enhanced viewing experience.

Performance and Storage

Samsung Galaxy C9 performs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 MSM8976 processor. It is an octa-core processor with two chips. One of the chips is Cortex A72 which is quad-core and clocked at 2GHz, and the other one is Cortex A53 which is quad-core and clocked at 1.4GHz. The processor has 64bit architecture, and it is much efficient than 32bit architecture moreover it improves the power efficiency of the device. The graphics on this device are handled by an Adreno 510 Graphics Performance Unit which comes inbuilt with Snapdragon 652 chipset. Galaxy C9 has 6GB RAM inbuilt which improves multitasking performance of this device, and with 6GB RAM there are no chances of the device being lagged in performance.

Storage and Camera

Galaxy C9 has an inbuilt memory of 64GB out of which it is expected that 10GB will be used by system apps and operating system. Rest of the memory can be used by the user, and it is ample for storing media files. If the user is troubled with memory being full, then he/she can also insert a memory card up to 256GB and expand the memory. Hence for the lovers of videos and images, it can be a good choice.

There are two cameras provided on this device, one on the front side and the other one on the rear side. The camera on the front side is called secondary camera or front camera and the one on the rear side is a rear camera or primary camera. The primary camera is a 16MP shooter with autofocus and having an aperture 1.9F. There is also a dual LED flash provided to capture bright images in low light mode. The image resolution for images captured is 4616 x 3464 pixels. Videos can be recorded in full HD @30 fps. The front side camera is also a 16MP shooter, and there is no front flash provided.

Battery and Network

The device is powered by 4000mAh battery and is long lasting. It is the Li-polymer type of battery and is not user replaceable. Moreover, the battery supports quick charging with which battery can be charged up to 50% in less than 10 mins.

There are two SIM slots offered on this device which accommodate nano-sized SIMs. It supports 4G (Indian bands), 3G and 2G. Galaxy C9 also supports Wi-Fi networking and mobile hotspot. It has a Bluetooth v4.2 and supports GPS navigation. A fingerprint sensor is provided on the front side for enhanced security and fast unlocking.

Verdict

Several mobile phone portals believe that the Galaxy C9 price in India will be around 38k INR. With provided features, this mobile phone is worth buying, and customers shall wait for this one definitely.
