Xiaomi Mi Max Smartphone 6.4-Inch Display With Big 4,850 mAh Li-Polymer Battery

Though smartphone market is thriving at this moment, our favourite tech-giants are doing everything in their power to improve their product portfolio. They’re bringing new and innovative features and are even moving towards the heavily attractive large-screen category. In other words, devices that look like a mix of phones and tablets, and boast top-tier internals just like powerful smartphones.

Xiaomi Mi Max: Smartphone 6.4-Inch Display With Big 4,850 mAh Li-Polymer Battery

Lenovo and Micromax were the first ones to move towards the phablet category, but now most tech-giants are making their move with the big screen, even Xiaomi, China’s leading phone maker. The company has unleashed its largest device Mi Max with a 6.44-inch display, and is promising a lot more than just sharp visual experience.

Here’s what you’ll be getting with the Xiaomi Mi Max, one of the finest in the entry-level phablet category:

A sharp and vibrant display

Xiaomi Mi Max makes an ideal package for big-screen lovers. The device, as its name suggests, incorporates a truly beautiful 6.44-inch full-HD IPS  2.5D curved glass display, and endows vibrant and picture-perfect visuals with 342 pixels per inch, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, and a bunch of modes for enhanced usability. The experience of watching a movie or playing a game on this device is simply exemplary, and its gets even better with Sunlight Display Mode that enhances colour output in broad daylight and reading mode which makes night reading easier and intuitive than ever!

That Spectacular Design

Alongside top-tier visuals, the design strategy opted by Xiaomi should also get some credit. Mi Max is a perfect piece of craftsmanship from the company. The humongous phablet boasts a full-metal unibody, ships in three colour options: silver, gold, and light grey, and is extremely sleek and slim. It accommodates a big battery under the hood, but still retains that slick profile at 7.5mm, which is highly commendable. Even ahead of the launch, CEO Jun Lei touted that spacing out components on a big screen device becomes easier when the size has increased. So, if you’re hunting a phablet that looks good and fits nicely in your hands, no other option looks better than the prolific Mi Max. It features a dash of class that you’ll hardly find with any other brand.

Performance with top-of the-line internals

Not just looks and visuals, Mi Max endows Avant garde performance as well. According to the spec-sheet on 91mobiles, the device powers up by Qualcomm’s super-impressive Snapdragon 650 octa-core chipset, and delivers smooth and snag-free performance just like a premium flagship. The 64-bit chipset packs four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.4GHz and four Cortex-A72 cores running at 1.8GHz, and pairs up with 3GB RAM and Adreno 510, just like highly touted Redmi Note 3.

It makes up a tempting package for entry-level buyers, and offers 32GB inbuilt storage with 4G VoLTE and an option to expand up to 200GB via microSD card. And in case you pack all your data on your smartphone, the top-variant with 128GB internal storage and 4GB RAM is also a good choice to keep in mind.

Software

On the software side, Xiaomi brings a major MIUI upgrade with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Xiaomi has taken a big leap to MIUI 8, and is promising a unique smartphone experience thanks to the fresh look from redesigned app icons and features like, multi-window support, Wallpaper carousel, new font, and advanced power saving mode. The new interface from the company showcases a new look and feel, but you can call it a major upgrade over MIUI 7.

Enhanced Pixel Count on Camera

Where on-the-go smartphone photography is becoming a thing of interest for most of us, Xiaomi is doing everything to keep its camera technology right on the mark. The company did a lot of hard-work with Redmi Note 3 and Mi 5, and is doing the same with the new Mi Max. The power-packed flagship brings a perfect set of internals with a camera that delivers vibrant and crisp images in all environments. On the back, it bears a 16-megapixel f/2.0 shooter with a 5-lens setup, phase detection auto-focus, and dual-LED flash. It makes an ideal companion for photography freaks, and is equally well supported by a 5-megapixel snapper on the other side featuring, 85-degree wide angle lens and same aperture size.

Advanced Connectivity Option

For seamless and stutter-free connectivity, Xiaomi Mi Max boasts the best possible suite of features to keep things up and running just as you want them to be. The dual-SIM based device offers advanced connectivity options with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, 3G HSPA+, NFC, and micro-USB 2.0. It features 4G with VoLTE support, and boasts a snappy fingerprint scanner and infrared emitter, unlike most phablets in the same price bracket.

Though inclusion of fingerprint scanner is not new, it will surely add benefits of advanced biometric security for limiting unauthorized access. Even the infrared emitter, which can be used as a universal remote controller, is also a good addition, but it’s something we didn’t see that coming!

Tremendous Power Backup

To get the best out of a high-res display, you need a big battery promising sufficient power-backup. It’s definitely a lot to ask from an entry-level device, but luck for us, Mi Max does incredibly well with a gigantic 4,850 mAh battery. The device offers immense power for non-stop work and play, and gives you a lot more than just full day usage with innumerable calls and heavy graphic intensive gaming. This is the biggest battery on any Xiaomi device, and we expect nothing less than top-notch performance in terms of usage in hours. In other words, 2-3 days under normal usage or 14-15 hours while streaming a video on Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G.

This is what Xiaomi Mi Max brings on offer.  As per 91mobiles, the phablet will be up for grabs in coming months, but seeing these specs we already know, it will be one of the biggest hits in the phablet category, especially against the likes Lenovo, Micromax, and other players.
